CROIX FADET is cultivated in a unique situation where the gravel bed (the former Charente valley) has a calcareous clay topsoil.
The vines are trained in narrow rows with a limited yield, which, in order to preserve the exceptional quality of the grapes, is combined with careful foliage thinning, green harvesting, and meticulous selection. The Bordelais method used for vinification here, includes a long fermentation period (5 weeks) and thermoregulation.
CROIX FADET is a deeply coloured wine with brilliant garnet highlights. Its nose is rich with the aroma of ripe fruit and spices, a sensation which is exactly mirrored on the palate. Its soft tannins bring an additional astonishing roundness.
Grape varieties: 50% Merlot, 50% Cabernet-Sauvignon.
